My take: I’ve been a git user and advocate for more than a decade. I’ve even experimented with writing my own from-the-ground-up implementation of git – twice, in two different languages. (Neither effort is still active.) So I have a better understanding than the average bear about how git works. And this is the first I’ve heard of git notes.
